South Oxford Health Centre
Opening Times
The Health Centre is currently open from 8.30am – 6.00pm, Monday - Friday.
As usual, if urgent problems arise outside normal working hours, OXEMS, our Out of Hours Service will be available to help and may be contacted by telephoning 111, the new NHS emergency number.
Appointments
People are seen by appointment by our doctors and nurses. This is to enable each person to have a more relaxed consultation and to cut down on waiting. Delays are bound to occur sometimes, but remember, it could be you who needs that extra time.
Doctors Appointments
Access to your GP and services, as always, is available by contacting us on 01865 242334. If a patient, who has spoken with a doctor, needs to be seen then this will be either at SOHC or SBMC depending on where that GP is working that day. Please note that all patients over the age of 3 will also be required to wear a protective face covering/mask. The waiting room area will not be open and you will need to wait outside until the clinician is ready, they will endeavour to not keep you waiting long. Please continue to order your repeat prescriptions as you have been doing since the beginning of lockdown. If you have any questions or concerns please call regarding the above please call 01865 242334
Please be aware that if you have been asked to attend the practice for a consultation ALL PATIENTS OVER THE AGE OF 3 will be required to wear a protective face covering / mask.
Practice Nurses
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly.
The surgery is lucky to have an Health and Research Assistant who is also trained in important tasks such as checking blood pressure readings, taking blood samples as well as giving health advice.
